Progress Tracker and Notifications

In an effort to improve user productivity we will be moving long-running user-initiated actions into the background so that users can continue to work.

What Actions Are Included

  • Bulk editing
  • Save Invention
  • Invention Flow Action (Submit, File Non-Provisional, etc.)

Bulk Edits

The progress tracking feature provides real-time visibility into the status of bulk updates and other long-running tasks in AppColl. Whether you're updating multiple records at once or initiating a time-intensive job, the progress tracker helps you monitor the progress of these operations as they happen.

Upon performing bulk updates or other long-running tasks in AppColl, you will receive a confirmation message indicating the update is processing with a note that progress can be monitored at the bottom right of the browser.

Click the Progress Bar at the bottom right of the page to monitor your bulk update or other long-running job while it is processing.

Once the process is complete the status color will change to green

Save and Apply Changes Buttons on the Invention Details Page

From within an invention details page, clicking the Save button will begin saving the invention but you will immediately return to the page you visited previously. Progress of the saved invention will be visible at the bottom right of the browser, as shown in the images below. If the action completes before you click on an interactive element on the page, then the page will automatically refresh to show the updated records. Otherwise, the refresh icon next to the page title will turn red to indicate that the page should be reloaded to update the displayed records. Click the refresh icon near the page title to reload the page.

The above popup contains a minimize button and action elements. Each action element contains a title, when the action was started, and a description. If the action has not yet completed, then the description is not visible by default. Clicking on the action element will toggle the visibility of the description. The description will contain information about the status of the action or relevant links.

Click the Apply Changes button will begin saving the invention and will wait for the action to complete before reloading the current page. You will be unable to perform other actions while the invention is being saved. If your account has complicated task triggering, forecasting, or contains many records then this may take awhile.

Access Notifications

Notifications provide a summary of recent system events so you can stay up-to-date on important actions. In your notifications you can find useful information regarding completed actions that occurred in the background. Click the Notifications icon in the upper right corner to view. Notice there are two notifications in the following example:
