Regenerate Tasks for Task Types

Note that if a task type is added or changed, AppColl does not retroactively apply the task type to your account. This is on purpose, as doing so could be disastrous. For example, 1000s of reminder tasks could be created in error if the triggers were incorrect. That's where regenerating tasks come in, which can simulate this retroactive process once you are ready to do so.

You can regenerate tasks for a specific task type that has triggers related to tasks or matters. You would use this process if you are only trying to regenerate tasks that trigger a specific task type. In other words, you don't want any task generation except a specific task type. This contrasts with tasks and matter regeneration, which could generate multiple tasks. View the Regenerate Tasks and Regenerate Tasks for Matters articles.

  1. To regenerate tasks for task types, hover over the Tasks module and select Manage Task Types.

  1. Select the Task Type for which you wish to regenerate tasks.

  1. Click the Regenerate Tasks button.

  1. This will bring up a pop-up from which you can select specific clients and matter types to regenerate the tasks. Note that if none are selected, tasks will regenerate for all matters. Select the Client.
  2. Select the Matter Type.
  3. Click the Ok button.

This process is completed as a background task and the progress can be checked from the Background Operations in the upper right hand of any page.
