This feature is available in AppColl PM Plus and Corporate accounts. Account administrators can enable or disable 892 form processing in the AI Processing tab on the Settings page.
AppColl automatically processes USPTO 892 forms (List of References Cited By Examiner). When an 892 form is received, AppColl scans it using an AI model, extracts all of the references, adds them as examiner cited references for the associated matter (and optionally all related pending US matters), and automatically downloads any patent publication reference PDFs and attaches them to any tasks generated as a result of receiving the 892 form. Note that all reference PDFs are stored in the References folder in the Files module. If AI form field processing is enabled in the account, AppColl runs OCR on the downloaded references and stores the result in the References folder as .txt files for use during AI form field processing.

Important: OCR processing is not 100% reliable. It is important that all 892 processing results (particularly NPL references) are carefully checked for correctness. AppColl records the results of 892 processing in the Comments field of the “Review USPTO e-Office Action 892” task generated when the USPTO 892 e-Office action is received.
Note that his processing only occurs when an e-Office action email is received by AppColl from the USPTO with an 892 code.

You can have AppColl process old 892 forms by re-forwarding the e-Office action email from the PTO to AppColl. AppColl stores e-Office action emails previously received in the Top/Imported/EOfficeActionEmails folder. Click on email to download it, then open it in your local email client and forward it to eofficeaction@appcoll.com. Please note that due to limitations with the way the PTO provides access to files in Patent Center, forms older than 100 days may not work.
