Email Notifications - Disclosure Action Items

Share this article:

AppColl allows for creating custom email notifications after any event in an invention disclosure. Emails can be sent to person(s) having the "next action" in a flow or even when the disclosure status changes (https://support.appcoll.com/customer/portal/articles/2089366-email-notifications---disclosure-status-change).

Please Note: Making changes to notifications is relatively harmless. However, changing details of the underlying task types itself (i.e., title, triggering events, etc.) can have drastic effects on the disclosure flow. Please contact AppColl support if changes to the flow are desired.

By default, any time users are assigned an action for a disclosure, they are sent a notification email indicating the required action. The syntax of the notification can be found in the task rule associated with the action. Action-based task rules begin with "Disclosure Action:" followed by a specific action. See below.

For example, an email notification is tied to each of the above actions. Feel free to edit any of the notifications by clicking on the appropriate Disclosure Action task type and then the notifications button. Once the notification has been edited, make sure to click OK to accept the changes and then click save for the task rule itself.

Below is an example action task email notification associated with an inventor being asked to rework the disclosure based on feedback from a reviewer and patent committee.
