We're excited to announce a new set of features and updates that are now live in AppColl! These enhancements are designed to improve efficiency and give you more control over your IP portfolio.

Here's a breakdown of the new features and what they do:

1. Workflow & Task Automation

  • Task Notification Control: Added a global setting that lets admins turn off the automatic notification resend that occurs whenever a task's owner changes.
  • Per-Client 892 Processing Toggle: Added a checkbox on Client Contact records to enable or disable 892 Processing on a client-by-client basis.

2. Billing & Invoicing

  • Invoice Expense/Payment Report: Added a new report that shows expenses allocated and payments received against each invoice.
  • Non-Admin QuickBooks Invoice Syncing: Billing specialists without QuickBooks admin rights can now sync invoices to QuickBooks themselves, removing the bottleneck of requiring a QuickBooks administrator for every sync.

3. Matter Management & Data Quality

  • Prior Art Module Filtering: Added filtering options and new columns (Matter Country, Status, Type, and Client) to the Matter Prior Art page.
  • Default Attorney Auto-Population: New matters now automatically populate the attorney field based on the "Default Attorney" set on the client's contact record, applying to both client and client/solo-inventor roles.
  • Product Descriptions Column: Added a filterable "Product Descriptions" column to the Matters list view.
  • EPO Applicant Data Import: Matters can now pull applicant data directly from the EPO API during updates.

4. Forms

  • USPTO Form Updates: Added and updated numerous USPTO forms to their latest versions, including new forms for Reissue Applications SB/56, AIA/05, AIA/06, AIA/07, AIA/53, SB445, SB470, SB/474, and SB/478, along with version updates to the ADS form, AIA/26, SB/30PC, SB/20GLBL, AIA/41, PTO/AIA/15, and SB/36.

5. UI & Usability

  • Improved Contact Searching: Improved search for contacts and role in the main search bar. Search is now smarter about name & role combinations. If you type a client name along with "client," it will search for contacts with a name match that also have role of Client.
  • Improved Hourly Rates Category Page Performance: The Hourly Rates category page now loads noticeably faster, especially for accounts managing large numbers of rate entries. Page rendering and in-page navigation have been optimized to reduce wait times when viewing and updating hourly rate data.
